Early Monday Blues...

As I sit here and type, I am desperately looking for something...ANYTHING...sports related on my regular message board. The best thing I can come up with is a guy from my high school and UAB grad is being named Public Relations Manager to Talladega Superspeedway. Not huge news. But it's a small victory. And that's what you have to live off of in a state with two SEC powerhouses, who were both recently named CBS Sportsline's top 2 cheating schools IN THE NATION...

And people wonder why after only 11 years in D-1A football UAB has only come so far.

But we do have a few certainties in life. A football win over Memphis, a football loss to Southern Miss, and hope lying in basketball season. After all, UAB has the most successful basketball program through 500 games, three consecutive years on the most season in D-1A. We only missed our fourth by one place thanks to conference-mate Houston and Topple-down Tom Penders.

So, I'll head to bed with dreams of LSU in '01, Memphis in '05, and Kentucky in '04 dancing in my head...waiting for what comes next. I just hope one big win happens this year. I'd love to cover something very special. Nevermind, I already do.
